Sunset West Lawyers
Three minutes. That's the average response time at Sunset West Lawyers. Sounds like a great selling point. Also sounds like a pretty boring commercial. So we made it stupid. And made the stupid look expensive. Instead of another attorney explaining how quickly his firm answers the phone, we built the concept around all the spectacularly bad decisions someone could make in those same three minutes. A cyclist. An accident. A series of questionable choices. Or, you know, just call your lawyer. ### THE JOKE IS STUPID. THE EXECUTION IS ANYTHING BUT. A lawyer. A bottle of Coke. One Mentos. And a very questionable amount of confidence. We deliberately paired absurd, deadpan comedy with the visual language of a high-end editorial campaign. Sharp cinematic framing. Bold magazine-inspired typography. Clashing typefaces, oversized lettering, precise kinetic motion graphics, and fast-paced editing. The contrast is the whole point. The situations are ridiculous. The lawyer couldn't be more serious. And the visuals treat every stupid word like it belongs on the cover of a fashion magazine. Meanwhile, there's a Mentos. Our guy keeps holding it, playing with it, teasing the inevitable Coca-Cola explosion without ever acknowledging the absurdity of the situation. The script delivers the message. The typography gives it rhythm. The Mentos gives the audience a reason to stay. The lawyer keeps talking. The tension keeps building. And then, finally, chemistry takes over. ### CONTROLLED CHAOS. ON PURPOSE. For Sunset West Lawyers, we turned a simple marketing claim into an entire creative concept, using humor to make the message memorable and sophisticated visual design to make the commercial impossible to mistake for another generic law firm ad. The humor wasn't an afterthought. Neither was the aesthetic. Both were designed to work together. That's how we approach creative advertising at runngun: find the idea, build the visual language around it, and make even the most straightforward commercial message worth watching. A legal commercial with the timing of a joke, the attitude of a crime movie, and absolutely no intention of looking like a legal commercial.
